Turkey Meatballs with Zucchini Noodles and Parmesan Cheese
Tips for Experienced Cooks
Experiment with your choice of herbs and spices in the meatball mixture to tailor the flavor profile to your liking; herbs like rosemary or thyme, or spices like paprika could add interesting notes. Also, consider pan-searing the meatballs in batches if your skillet isn't large enough to avoid overcrowding. This ensures each meatball is evenly browned. Additionally, you could deglaze the skillet with a bit of white wine before adding the zucchini noodles for an extra layer of flavor.
Step 1: Prepare the Meatball Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Step 2: Shape and Cook the Meatballs
Shape the mixture into 16 meatballs. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the meatballs for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
