Teriyaki Beef Stir-Fry with Broccoli and Quinoa
Tips for Experienced Cooks
Experiment with the balance of the marinade ingredients to tailor the flavor to your liking. For example, if you prefer a slight sweetness, increase the honey slightly. You can also try adding a dash of chili flakes or a few drops of sesame seeds to enhance the complexity of the flavors. Additionally, when stir-frying, control your heat to prevent the garlic and ginger from burning, which can introduce a bitter taste.
Step 1: Prepare the marinade
In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, cornstarch, garlic, and ginger. Add the beef slices to the bowl and marinate for 20 minutes.
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon ginger (minced)
- 1 lb beef slices
Step 2: Cook the beef
Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the vegetable oil. Add the marinated beef to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3: Cook the broccoli
In the same skillet, add the broccoli florets and cook for 3-4 minutes, until crisp-tender.

Return the beef to the skillet and stir in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and coats the beef and broccoli.
